Stormy Session
This beautiful, large mirror carp was caught by Wouter from his boat at a spot that had been carefully pre-baited with a mix of Monstercrab and Roasted Nut two days prior. During a session in the midst of a fierce storm, the bites were just as intense. The rods kept going off, and one carp after another was caught.

Between the more than 20 bites, this enormous mirror carp came aboard, caught on a 25mm Roasted Nut boilie. A unique catch, considering the fish stock in this area! Just as this carp was caught, the clouds opened up, and the sun briefly showed itself, as if nature itself granted this perfect photo opportunity!
The tension in the air was palpable: the storm that rapidly swept across the water had undeniably taken control of the fishing area, but it was precisely that unpredictability that made the session so thrilling. Wouter had prepared his spot well and felt that it would be a good day. As the rain poured down, the first bites came quickly. Every time the alarms went off, it felt like he was getting closer to this dream catch.
The mix of Monstercrab and Roasted Nut proved to be the right choice: the carp were clearly attracted to it. What made this session even more special was not just the quantity of fish, but also the calmness Wouter maintained amid the storm. Despite the wind, rain, and unsettled conditions, he kept full control of his rods and managed to convert every bite perfectly.
The enormous mirror carp was the absolute highlight of the session. Wouter was convinced it was one of the biggest he had ever caught at this spot. It was a moment of pure satisfaction, but also of respect for the water and nature. The photo taken at that moment symbolized not only the power of the carp but also the ultimate synergy between angler and nature.
When the clouds finally opened, and the sun broke through for a moment, it felt like the world of fishing took a pause. This perfect photo opportunity was not only the result of patience and technique, but seemed to be a sign from nature itself, acknowledging the dedication Wouter had shown. As the sun slowly broke through the clouds, he was able to immortalize this unique catch – a catch that would forever remain in his memory and on film.
