Martin SB has been a constant thread throughout my fishing past and present. I feel privileged because it's a bit like making it with your childhood love—something not many people get to experience... From a very young age, I came into contact with Martin SB's boilies. Initially, I started fishing with the Strawberry and Strawberry Fish, but over the years, these slowly but surely made way for the Monster Crab and the Roasted Nut, also known as "Gebrande Noot." Often mixed together, and that was a highly successful match!
Now, almost twenty years later, I’ve been actively involved behind the scenes at Martin SB for nearly as long. It was Martin himself who, through an old-school email, invited me to talk about a future with Martin SB. It couldn’t have been any other way, as social media hadn’t even been invented yet. Within the team, I quickly earned the nickname "Benjamin." A name that wasn’t just random, because I was a young one among all the seasoned veterans. But man, was I already determined back then. Every hour was spent wisely, and my fishing skills developed rapidly.
The Monster Crab remained a constant for all these years, while Roasted Nut was often swapped for other boilies from the range. Until last season, when I rediscovered the "Gebrande Noot" all over again. That orange ball with its authentic amaretto/bittercookie-like scent and taste that, upon opening the bag, takes you back twenty years in time and gave me (and many others) an amazing run of carp, including this stunning mirror carp.
